The begrudging childhood duty of "Trick or Treat"-ing -- parent sanctioned, door-to-door panhandling for
Snickers -- often in chilly, unpleasant Canadian weather. Costumes chosen at random, without forethought or passion, pulled on minutes before the death march, our twin motivations of free candy and fun acting as a shield to the often fierce autumn winds. The night wears on and our bodies falter as nylon and spandex fail to insulate, and bags heave with ill-gotten gains. Home acts as a respite from the cold but this stop is momentary. A way station where we pull on heavy coats and boots before moving ever onward to houses full of the sweet stuff.
Woke up early again. More
Metroid Prime.
Breakfast, exercise, rest.
